We have been delighted with the very positive reaction of over 350 volunteers across the UK to our 'Knit for Community' project, which is being organised by members of the Framework Knitters Company. Volunteers from across the UK include readers of Knitting Magazine, Let's Knit and the Leicester Mercury, viewers of East Midlands Today, social media posts, Loving Hands and League
of Remembrance charities, members of over 30 Livery companies, and WI members, plus friends stretching from Yorkshire to Hertfordshire. Each blanket is unique and the charities we are knitting for are Action Homeless in Leicester, Hope Nottingham and Glass Door London. The knitting has provided a positive focus during lock-down and we look forward to being able to present the blankets. A special mention to Carol, May and Marjorie who are residents in our Cottage Homes in Oadby - they have knitted over 500 squares and they're well on the way to having knitted enough squares for five blankets. More knitters are welcome - please email me liz@lizgreen.co.uk.
